Ebony Jeffries

Growing up, I was always involved in sports, but rugby stood out to me as a game that demanded not only athleticism but also mental toughness. The unique combination of endurance, strength, and teamwork was something I couldn’t find in other sports. Rugby has taught me the importance of discipline, hard work, and resilience, both on and off the field. The community of rugby players has become a second family to me. Rugby has shaped my character in ways I never expected, and the lessons I’ve learned continue to influence the way I approach life. It’s not just a sport; it’s a way of living that I am proud to be a part of. I have worked for the Exeter Chiefs community team for the past three years, where I’ve been delivering rugby sessions to schools and helping inspire the next generation of rugby players. It’s been incredibly rewarding to join up with Maddy’s Mark and be able to create a supportive, open environment for young people to talk about their struggles and find strength together through the sport of rugby.

Layla Meadows

Layla is our first and only Junior Ambassador, a special girl chosen to represent the generation of young women this charity aims to help. She is standing up to the challenge so many girls face in playing rugby: “At my school we have very few girl players because it’s not encouraged as much as for the boys. When the school promoted an amazing once in a lifetime trip to play rugby in South Africa this summer, we didn’t have enough girls to play a team there. I want more girls in my school to join in too because I know they will benefit from it just as much as me.” Layla has raised over £1500 for Maddy’s Mark and joined the volunteers spreading awareness at Twickenham is 2024.

Maud Muir

I was about 5 years old and my brother played at our local club (Oxford harlequins). I always wanted to get involved so it kind of just happened and I haven’t stopped playing since!
