Sam’s Bronco Challenge for Maddy’s Mark
As Sam says “My cousin Maddy Lawrence tragically passed away in March 2022 at the age of 20, following a rugby injury while playing for UWE, her university team.
Despite a courageous battle in the hospital, Maddy sadly succumbed to sepsis two weeks after the injury. Bright, loving, and athletic, she was a shining light in our lives.
The charity set up in her name, Maddy’s Mark, supports the mental well-being and resilience of girls and young women by encouraging them into rugby. Every year during ‘Maddy’s March’, the charity drives fundraising efforts throughout the month to help support this work.”
So Sam is going to attempt as many Broncos as possible in 12 hours on 20th March 2025. What is a Bronco? It is a hard-aerobic running assessment where participants have to complete a sequence of shuttle runs over 60m, 40m and 20m for five sets. The participants’ aim is to complete the test in as quick a time as possible.
