On 14th April the wonderful Alex Dannatt ran the Manchester marathon, raising money for Maddy's Mark.
In his words, "Maddy was a close friend and schoolmate who tragically passed away in March 2022 from a rugby accident. Her charity, Maddy’s Mark, has been set up in her memory, standing as a beacon for women's rugby and mental health. I am honoured to fundraise for Maddy, supporting causes that were important to her."
Alex ran a fantastic marathon, finishing in 3h39m and raising £1,310 for the charity.
Here were his words after the marathon:
"An incredible day and I couldn't be happier with how everything went. It was an amazing end to the months of training since I started running last August. I'm unbelievably thankful for all the donations I've had for such an important cause. We've raised over £1250. I really hope I've done everyone proud and raised as much as possible in memory of Maddy. So happy with my time, I couldn't have asked to run a faster race and really did leave everything on the course. Crazy given I started by just wanting to do sub 4hr. A huge thanks to everyone who came to support me on the day with special thanks to my parents for driving up and Emma & Madi for coming from York. Also Rob & Josh for following me around the whole race and training with me. Means the world 🌍"
Thank you Alex for your amazing contribution to Maddy's charity, she would be very proud.
