Maddy’s Marauders Bring Home the Plate at Heart of Wales 7s
Maddy’s Marauders travelled to the Heart of Wales 7s Tournament and came away with memories to last a lifetime, a Plate trophy, and a weekend that perfectly captured the spirit of rugby.
Set against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful rugby settings in the country, the tournament delivered everything that makes the game special. There was competitive rugby, plenty of hard work, team spirit in abundance, and, in true rugby fashion, a few post-match celebrations along the way.
What made the weekend even more special was the coming together of two teams, expertly woven into one by Molly, Maickel, Phoebe and Molly Foote. Their leadership and commitment helped create a harmonious, supportive and genuinely heart-warming group that quickly became much more than the sum of its parts.
On the pitch, the Marauders showed resilience, determination and no shortage of talent, battling through the tournament to secure the Plate title. Off the pitch, the team embraced the traditions and camaraderie that make rugby unique, sharing laughs, stories of Maddy, a celebratory drink or two, and even the tournament’s infamous naked run.
